Exactly what it says on the tin. Post your inspiration or reasons for creating any of your characters!
[I'll post mine when I think of a character]

My character came about initially, when I decided to play a Krogan, and I didn't want to play a generic big guy that's strong, but is also slow and stupid. Naturally, I begann to wonder what some of my favorite big men characters were from movies, video games, etc. My mind paused, when I remembered Marv, from Sin City. If anyone wasn't already aware, Sin City is basically an exaggerated, edgy, ultra-gritty crime noire movie, with a lot of black-and-white aesthetic. Essentially, I decided that my Krogan was going to be like something from a crime noire, and with similar personality traits to a character from one. He indulges in cigars and alcohol, has a calm exterior, etc. In signature Noire fashion, I made my Krogan to be a former, disgruntled detective for C-Sec, which means he isn't stupid. But now, he does mercenary/bounty hunter work for the captain of the ship, as he's currently a member and liaison of The Blood Pack. It might not sound like much when you see it on paper. But, in my opinion, how you carry the character is more important than a written-depth, and the believability that should come so in tangent as to how you carry it. In that, you will find your depth, and a depth that no words can describe.

I'm not quite sure really, I'm brand new to Mass Effect as in I've never even played a single second of the game. I decided to play as a Human since I'm one of them and can hopefully accurately portray one. The character I've gone with is pretty basic in terms of complexity, I've done this to avoid any mishaps and confusion I might possibly have if I were to try and play a Krogan who have a culture which I might have to stick by?
But the character itself is just a average build guy who's just grown up in a way that's had him turn to crime and retain the personality he does, nothing extravagant.

lmao i'm hijacking this for the rebellion rp because flavia isnt interesting and jillian is
Jillian is originally my Dungeons and Dragons character, a Halfling Rogue. Then she got moved over to Traveller for like 2 days as just Jill Baylor when one of the guys wanted to do a spinoff, which inspired me to turn her from a Rogue to a Mechanic. In the Traveller campaign, she was frenemies with the captain of the ship, a guy named Jack, which inspired the whole Jack-and-Jill thing she has going on with her brother now on Elysium. She's got the name Jillian back on here but she prefers Jill, and her brother isn't named Jack, rather Jackson, but the joke is still there.

I didn't know what I wanted to do with Andzelika originally. I eventually narrowed my ideas down to an old character I had, Ariett Vaan, a character inspired by Tracer from Overwatch. She was incredibly fun to play, mostly because she was talkative and enthusiastic (her accent was also just fun to play with, but that's only a minor thing I liked about her) But I didn't want to make her another single 20-something like I normally do. So I made her a perky 30-something mom with like three kids.

I wanted to play a Lieutenant that was based off Matthew McConaughey BUT Pundii said I can't play Matthew McConaughey - he said I had to play Audrey Hepburn. So I'm trying my best to make an interesting Lieutenant.

I just wanted to play a grunt with small dreams which turned into big dreams after the opening event. Something about being not specialized in anything and being just a grunt straight out of basic is something I haven't done for years and I wanted to switch it up a little bit.
Spoilers, I have no regrets thus far.

Originally Marcel started as an idea I had for a character a few months ago, one that unlike most of my character ideas actually seemed somewhat interesting. I was watching a World War II documentary which, in a quick side note mentioned that a lot of young men lied about their age to sign up. This gave me the idea to make a character who did the same, I really liked the idea because it has a lot of opportunities, but I didn't have a chance to play it at the time. It wouldn't have exactly worked at Havoc (lolrip). I had originally intended to make Marcel a medic, but changed this due to having more than enough already, little did I realize this would lead to Marcel becoming much more developed in a far shorter period of time than I had anticipated. Changing specialization I began to consider ways of spicing up the character, as I feel I've always had the bad habit of making somewhat bland characters. I looked to MASH's Radar O'Reilly for inspiration as they both fit the same mold, this helped me flesh out his personality. Eventually, off the top of my head, I gave the character a stutter, which would also prove to help add quite a bit of life to the character, later I decided that the stutter wasn't from a direct speech disorder, but caused by his anxiety and lack of confidence. Since then the character has changed a lot, he also strays as much from his inspiration as he takes from it but one thing is certain, I've never had more fun playing a character thus far.

Might as well do this for my combat character.
For Sigur I used the same graphics I used on an infection roleplay I was on with Pundii and Nazz a few months ago, and since I needed a faceclaim and was stumped, it was easy. At the time, the character was named Cassie and she was an Icelandic with a very similar backstory to Sigur; They both take inspiration and faceclaim from one of my favourite characters on the Netflix series Sense8, Riley Blue. I changed her first name and kept the last; Originally I was going to make her a full Dwarf but I decided I needed to have a Human in my roster because of Jill already being half-Venutian. Instead I decided to say that she was adopted by Dwarves and raised on Hephaestus; I actually got inspired by a Tumblr post about adoption to make this character be sort of the opposite of Alicia on HG, where her adopted family is her family and she has no interest in her birth parents. The story behind her fiance and her daughter are also inspired by Riley Blue's fucked up backstory from Sense8, but for my interpretation, I changed a lot. I won't spoil what it originally was from the show because it's badass and you need to see it, but in Sigur's case she was engaged to be married but her fiance, Ragnar, died shortly after joining the Coalition. Before she joined herself, Sigur was a history teacher and decided to start fighting when her fiance died in battle. She had given birth to their daughter, Luna, at that point, but left her behind with her Dwarven sister so she could join the Coalition herself. The sad part about that is that Luna doesn't know Sigur is her mother, and she wants to keep it that way, so she won't feel tempted to abandon the fight and go home. So for all intents and purposes, to Luna, Sigur is her aunt.

The Entire Theory Behind Marta: "What if I made Izera but actually talkative and not impossible to RP?"
A lot of my characters are remakes of old characters that I didn't really have fun with. I've been trying to add to old characters lately to make them more interesting so, yeah.
